When recognition (marker · face) is unreliable

Image (marker) recognition

  • Dim lighting or backlight sharply reduces recognition. Try in bright, even lighting.
  • Wrinkled prints or heavy reflections (glossy lamination, glass frames) make recognition hard. Matte printing is recommended.
  • Images with clear contrast and rich patterns recognize best. Flat, low-contrast images are poor markers.
  • Move closer until the marker fills at least a third of the screen.

Face recognition

  • Keep the face near the center of the frame and avoid strong backlight.
  • Masks, large glasses and other occlusions can make tracking unstable.
